Literature Text

Skin the color of cappachino,
With eyes like black coffee,
As I stare into my little
Foam cup of mocha
I can see your reflection
Looking back at me with love.

My mind is filled with thoughts,
Thoughts of you and I together again,
And recalling sweet memories
Takes up the time I should be using
To plan out my day.

I can hear your laughter over the
Dull chatter of the people around me.
I feel your hand resting on mine
Instead of the watch around my wrist.
And when I sip my luke-warm mocha,
It is your kiss that I taste.

It\'s amazing what 79 cents can buy you.

This poem was also chosen by the International Society of Poetry to be published in one of their poetry compliations.

Staring off into space (or a cup of mocha, as the case may be) can very easily lead to daydreaming. Remembering the one you love and all the things that make you love them is a wonderful hobby, don't you think? You really don't have to spend a lot of money or bend over backwards to have a good time, especially if you're with a loved one. Take some time out next time you're sitting down to have a bite to eat, or even sip some mocha, to think about those who make life worth living.
